It's been over four years since I wrote Healthcare - USA vs. the world, and I have to say that while I stand behind most of it (because it's based on real-life personal experience, not opinions or political beliefs), I have moderated a few viewpoints. For example, I knew there were uninsured in America, but I wasn't aware that there are 50,000,0000 uninsured. That's untenable. I hope we can work this out, and still keep what's good in the American system, such as fast diagnosis and state-of-the-art treatment.
One thing that is sad about the current state of healthcare debate - a level of partisan posturing, leading to ridiculously polarized attitudes, resulting in obstinate lack of compromise based on beliefs rather than facts, is our greatest danger to a real and lasting solution. It's sad when a cartoon conveys more truth about a situation than most elected officials....
