Kayak answers the age old question, when are holiday airfares cheapest?

We asked Kayak and the company responded with tons of delicious data. The most important bit is this: The best time to buy a plane ticket for the December holidays is the first week of December, up until the 10th. You still have time! And if you don’t have a ticket for Thanksgiving yet, well, family is more important than money.

Lost cousins unite thanks to Holocaust database

It was just the latest successful byproduct of the memorial's database, established years ago as a means of commemoration aimed at gathering the exact names of all the 6 million Jewish victims of the Nazi genocide. But since the database went online in 2004, it has become a powerful genealogy tool that has led to hundreds of emotional reunions of long lost families.

Draconian copyright bill hits the Internet buzz saw

The Stop Online Piracy Act, a controversial nutty, delusional and shortsighted bill created by people who could be construed as idiots, is hitting a buzzsaw of Internet opposition. Large companies are also starting to tabulate their potential compliance costs.
