My new gig at IBM.

As of Monday, I'm joining IBM.  I'll be working in the Entity Analytic Solutions group, based in Las Vegas.  The division is a result of the purchase of Systems Research and Development (SRD), which was founded by Jeff Jonas.  Very interesting stuff!  I'm looking forward to learning a lot, using more of my XML and relational DB skills, and meeting new people at IBM.

Looking back, working at IBM seems somewhat inevitable.  Sometimes when speaking at IBM events and hanging out with all of my IBM buddies, I've been mistaken as an employee....guess this makes it official!

My start at IBM will be a 2-day assimilation at the IBM Learning Center in Armonk, then back to the office in Vegas.  I'll send updates when I can.

I'll be shutting down BenzTech over the next few weeks.  This blog will stay.  I can still be reached via this Blog or via contact info at brianbenz.com.

And yes, Duffbert, you called it.  Oh, and Ed, where's that copy of the IBM blogging policy...?

LOL! I started to wonder if I was wrong after the length of time since the last posting on the subject. :)

Congrats, and they hired a quality person.

Brian, good luck on your new gig. I once asked an old time IBM'er how he could be happy working for IBM when it has so many repressive rules. He said it was easy "We just ignore them". I hope you are in a fun group. Stop by the Advisor event and say Hi.

@Ed - Thanks! Guess I have to read them now....
@Duffbert - No problems, just busy with the transition....
@Gary - Thanks? ;) As for the fun group issue, here's a hint: They're located in Las Vegas. See you at the DevCon - I'll crash the party again...

Whoa Brian-awesome news. Congratulations on the big move....see you in a couple weeks!

Hi Brian,
